This is not necessarily “anti-work” but I’m pretty frustrated by the dress code enacted by my workplace. Specifically the differences for men vs. women in the workplace. Why am I expected to be in a nice button-up and slacks and potentially suit/tie some days? Especially when the women in my office are able to wear virtually whatever they want within reason (dresses, sweater, flowy comfortable pants, even t-shirts!!!). Obviously everything covered and relatively professional but I’m not sure why I should be expected to be dressed like I’m going to a wedding every day when it’s uncomfortable and often detrimental to my desire to go to work.
I know it’s so simple and overall the work environment is relatively positive, but it seems a bit hypocritical. There are other people with bigger problems in the workplace but it’s just something I noticed. Any thoughts?
