During the hiring process my manager promised me a raise after 30 days… Now she’s going back on what she said…

I'd appreciate any advice on how to handle this, but at this point I'm already looking for another job/have some interviews lined up ¯_(:/)_/¯ I feel so betrayed (and honestly really stupid) for just believing my manager would actually follow through with her promise… During my interview my manager clearly stated that “after working there for 30 days, I'd be getting bumped up to $15 dollars an hour” (I'm currently making $13.75) After hearing that, I was stoked! I went home and told my husband immediately, everything was great. I start my new job and I really like it, I like the people that I work with a lot too. I'm thinking, hell yes, this is great and looking forward to my eventual raise. I have a lot of restaurant experience so I excel at the new job quickly, customers really seem to like me, I'm getting compliments and such……

During my interview my manager clearly stated that “after working there for 30 days, I'd be getting bumped up to $15 dollars an hour” (I'm currently making $13.75) After hearing that, I was stoked! I went home and told my husband immediately, everything was great. I start my new job and I really like it, I like the people that I work with a lot too. I'm thinking, hell yes, this is great and looking forward to my eventual raise. I have a lot of restaurant experience so I excel at the new job quickly, customers really seem to like me, I'm getting compliments and such… Now here's where the problems start. I figured that my new pay rate would show up on my latest check… It didn't. So I called the restaurant's pay roll office and asked them how long I'd been working there, they told me 48 days. I kind of knew from my own calculations that I'd been working there long enough to see my raise happen, but maybe my manager forgot, right?

So I tried to talk to her about it during our next shift together. I asked her if she thought I'd been working there for more than 30 days already. She kind of brushed me off and said something along the lines of “oh, has it been that long?” And that was it. We were kind of busy, so I didn't have time to question her further. I kind of thought about how I was going to talk to her about it later, then decided to call her later once I was home and she was still at the restaurant. I told her I found out that I'd actually been working there 48 days at this point and I was wondering about my raise and possibly getting back-pay for the 18 days I didn't get payed my promised rate. She told me that the back-pay wasn't possible and that “she'd put in for a raise for me because I'm awesome and I deserve it”… I asked her if that raise was going to put me at $15 an hour. She started back peddling and saying that she couldn't promise if my raise would get me to $15 or not, but she'd ask…

At that point I just politely got off the phone with her and called the head office. I ended up speaking with a really nice DM from another store and explained the entire situation. I was honestly in shock/really upset at this point because my manager has been so nice and I was not expecting this AT ALL. He told me he'd speak with my stores DM and my manager and get back to me… When he called me back a few hours later he said that I could just stay home today (I was scheduled to work 9-2) and I'd still get paid. Meanwhile, he, my store's DM and my manager apparently will be “working on proactive solutions, in order to move forward”… I'm honestly so confused and in shock about all of this. I've never run into this problem before and I've worked in so many other restaurants! I know I should have known better, about just blindly trusting my managers promise of a raise, but yeah, I did it and now I'm dealing with the consequences. I'm waiting to hear back from all the managers today, so I'll update this post when I get any news…
