I recently lost my job due to being sick and missing too many days. I had to find a new job quick so I’ve been applying everywhere I can and even now I’m still putting in applications.
I got a job with an insurance agency but the boss has me second guessing if it’s worth it. Here are a few reasons as to why:
- Admitted from the jump that he’s not a good boss as he runs 4 businesses and has another baby on the way.
- I am not yet on payroll and I am just a sales agent yet he expects me to take on “extra responsibilities” and is pushing me towards “leadership”… I literally just got hired a day ago.
- I am expected to pick up my equipment AND someone else’s equipment to deliver to them and to top that off I was not informed until last minute that it’s over a 2 hour drive to pick up the equipment. So I informed him I would have to make arrangements and he basically told me to “take charge” cause again he has a baby on the way.
- He wants to have one on one lunch with me??? And apparently he doesn’t do that often.
- Almost forgot, he expected me to cancel prior commitments last minute. Again, I am not even on payroll and I just got hired a day ago…I don’t even have a solid start date yet.
- Still have no clue what my schedule is going to be like.
I’m the kind of person where I just wanna do my job and be left the hell alone and I have no interest in having lunch with this man as I am not 100% comfortable. A zoom meeting would suffice. The past day or two has been a bit off putting. Idk if I’m trippin or if my gut feeling is on to something. Part of me is telling me to just see how it goes and the other part is telling me to keep it moving with the job search.
