Email from my manager: “I was very clear in the you were NOT needed IF the shift COULD be COVERED. You WILL be required to work on Sunday.”

So I handed in my resignation. My manager and I had previously agreed I wouldn’t work on Sunday (despite what my contact says) I was kind enough to finish out the week (finish Friday) and skip out on Sunday. A lad at my new work was nice enough to show me around the joint before we opened on Monday that Sunday afternoon. Tried to be proactive and get the shift covered myself, but she insisted to do it. After asking around at the workplace my manager (I think out of spite) did not ask any of my coworkers to fill my shift or even send out an email. I brought up the subject on my 2nd to last day and she refused to talk to me and have a mature conversation. Gave me the whole ‘bitch face’, with the raised brow, hand on the hip type stuff. So, I decided to play nice and pretend I was going to do the shift..
.. but just the way she wrote to me about my final shift was infuriating. “You will be required”? Excuuusee me – I was so over it.
So, I waited 2hrs before my shift on Sunday, and said I had covid.
Fuck you.
