About a month ago I told my manager that i really wasn't happy and I was thinking about leaving without a clear plan of what to do next because I was so unhappy, I'd rather be unemployed and struggle, I had a full emotional breakdown during this exchange. But we came away from it with the idea that my role would change I'd be moving to another office at the end of November to see if this would help.
Fast forward to this morning.
Manager says let's have a chat to see how I'm getting on. (bear in mind, the move and my role isn't set to happen until the end of next week) he asks how I've been, I say, up and down, he says that's understandable. Then says that he thinks what he said a month ago was a mistake and that I should do what I said and leave as he can't see me being happy.
Now obviously I'm a bit taken back by this, I start asking why, he says he was wrong and doesn't think my views will change, apparently the upper upper management have doubts aswell. I say that no one has spoken to me about these doubts. This went on for a while. We left it with me saying that I'm still willing to try this change we originally agreed on as I said I would.
Now thinking about it, it kind of seems like they'd rather I left than got rid of me, they might be thinking they can get someone to take over my role and save themselves some money.
I don't really know what to do here.
TLDR: I said I wanted to leave, employer said lets fix it, month later before trying the fix, changes mind and thinks I should leave.
