Early in the New Year I started with a new employer, as of less than a month ago they issued a employee handbook saying that new hires can accrue PTO as of their higher date but can't use it until after their probationary period.
A week ago I had to take time off for a personal matter and was told that I only just began accruing PTO.
I just today talk to my HR person and they said that the handbook was giving out really just for insurance purposes and that we don't follow most of it and if I have questions to just reach out.
This is a decent company and I like the people but what can I do. I already let hr know I was taking what they said as fact and just got the above response.
