Employer required Covid testing

I was sick for a month (not covid) and my employer said that in order to go back to work I needed a negative covid result. They told me I could do the at home one and send a picture next to my drivers license. Once I did this they responded saying they just launched a new policy so that we can’t use at home testing. So they told me to go to Urgent care and get tested. I had to pay out of pocket for the testing. Does anyone know whether they are required to reimburse me for the test they required? I live in California.
