My employer started their yearly United Way donation schtick this year. I was recommended to give 1 week's GROSS pay. Which would be ~ 1% of my net worth. Donating that would get me 1 extra vacation day, whoopty do!
On the opposite end of the wealth spectrum McKenzie Scott gave away .02% of her net worth to the United Way and I haven't seen the end of articles sucking her figurative dick about it.
TLDR: I passed on giving 2.5 weeks net pay to the United Way which was the recommended amount by my employer.
