I've already got one part time IT gig that'll at least keep me afloat, but I am in the process of applying for a second job to essentially be full time between both… however, today I was basically told that I'd be paying $58 dollars for the drug test out of pocket. My understanding is that for any drug test you're supposed to be paid the time spent on the drug test— this is to work for XXXX county schools so I understand the need for drug tests/background check.
Is it legal to make me pay for this without reimbursement. Is this a red flag for anyone else?
Edit: I contacted HR and it got worse. ” The drug test is paid for by the employee and not reimbursed. The fingerprinting is also paid upfront by the employee and not reimbursed. Let me know if you need anything else.”
1 million upvotes and I'll take the job.
