So I've been applying to over a dozen jobs now in my area and haven't been called for a SINGLE INTERVIEW!
Some background: mechanical engineer with 5 years experience in a DoD manufacturing environment. I'm getting really tired of working 10+ hour days and getting shit raises while a new guy with 1 year experience comes in getting paid more than me.
I know there's plenty worse things going on but not even getting calls about open positions I'm generally qualified for or even over qualified. I've seen so many posts about “nobody wants to work” and thought it would be pretty easy to at least get called back. But I've been applying for 3 months or so and gotten nothing back. It's really making me think less of myself but it shouldn't.
Screw all this. I hate my job. I hate my boss. I'm just tired….I just want a win for working people who care about everyone not just themselves.
