I work a job that I am technically able to do from home. I got covid last weekend and my employer says that I am not eligible for NYS covid sick pay because I have the option to WFH. However, I have had a fever and been too sick to work the past two days. Ideally I would take another day off to give myself time to recover, but I can't afford to use more PTO. Has anyone else encountered this? I find it pretty crazy that we are just assuming people don't get sick enough to not work with covid. Luckily I do have some PTO hours, because if not this would cost me my job.
