Rant time. I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing that goes here but I have been employed as a temporary associate in my city's library system for around 10 months. In that time 3 permanent positions have opened up and 3 times I have been denied an interview because I didn't pass the city HR buzzword test. Keep in mind, it isn't even the library HR denying me. Applicants have to go through city HR first and the library managers just have to interview who gets sent over even though they would rather interview those of us who are currently working there but aren't full time.
I have been patient but today I got denied the opportunity to interview for the temp position that I am currently doing even though the only difference between last year and this year are an extra 10 months of experience and a completed Masters Degree in the field. I just am so furious that they deny me a chance to even interview for a position that I currently do. Why even ask on the application if we have any experience.
Also, the 3 positions that were filled while I have been here are the same position filled 3 times because the candidates sent to interview had 0 experience and they didn't like the job. Rant over. Sorry
