Fiancé was laid off yesterday after we were about to receive a $10K moving bonus. What would you do?

My fiancé (22M) and I (23F) moved down from North Carolina in October for a new job he was hired for in Florida. Up until the time we received messages from others on his team who were laid off later last night/this morning. The reasoning for others being laid off was not a fireable offense.

Right now, no document or reasoning has been provided. It's presumed that they aren't trying to cause panic in-house. Since Florida law doesn’t require reasoning, we likely will never get one. Currently applying to jobs and filed unemployment. Any opinion on this sucky situation?

TL;DR – Fiance was laid off yesterday before we were about to get our $10K moving bonus this month. Contract was signed saying once we completed his training program, we’d get this compensation. Company did not say it was a layoff but others are getting let go for reasons that aren’t a fireable offense. Anything we can do?
