Fifth Round Interview for. Project Manager…

I’ve been interviewing with this company that I really like, and they’re effectively having me do a fifth round interview for this role. Context, they make medical devices and contract manufacturing. I have a degree in biomedical engineering and really like this kind of work! Very clean building, makes products that actually help sick people. It makes the corporate bullshit sting a little less. They’re also courting me for two roles. One as the PM, which they know I prefer. And another as an engineer, which I’m also fine with. Almost all focus and interviews have been for the PM role. So I spoke with HR on the phone for a screening. Then went on site to meet the entire PM team and HR in person. Had a call the following week with the hiring manager.

Then another on site interview with a three person panel.

After that meeting last Friday, hiring manager said he’d talk to his team and get back to me with next steps on Wednesday (today). Waited all day anxiously for an update.he texts me at 5:28 and says he’d like to ask me a few more questions. He’d send them over to me and then we could talk about them Friday.

I really like the company and I’m interested in the job, but Jesus Christ… make a decision! I’ve spent hours giving them my entire career backstory and explaining my skills and how they make me an excellent fit for the role. Hiring manager himself even said to me directly that this role would be an excellent move for my career, that I have a great background, and that he is confident in me as a candidate. I’m glad to still be in the running but seriously, this is effectively my fifth interview with this company for a mid range job. It shouldn’t be this complex.
