Long story short, I got a “final warning” about time theft (it was very petty, counting minutes I wasn’t working by watching security footage for a month) and my manager made me sign it.
I regret signing it but I figured it would entitle me to get a copy. I emailed my boss the next day and asked for a copy of the warning because I barely had a chance to read it in his office. He said he would send it to me. It has been two weeks and he’s ignored two more emails on the subject. I do not see him often, so email is our usual form of contact.
I know HR just works for the company, but should I contact them to get a copy of this warning? Not only do I think that I can explain every date and time, but I’m also livid that they didn’t follow their own protocol— instead of giving me a SINGLE warning, they spied on me for a month and gave me a “final” warning, making me feel like I could lose my job at any moment.
I don’t know if HR will give me a copy or just tell my boss and piss him off that I went over his head.
