Hey Everyone, I hope y'all are all well.
I'm finally leaving my extremely toxic job after 11.5 years! And No ! I did not give them a resignation letter because they really don't deserve it! Here's why, over the course of 11.5 years I've experienced/viewed the following:
Nobody has a contract, proof of employment, pays employment tax or even has a pay slip. None of us (+/- 80 employees) have bank accounts.
Nobody has a job description and we are constantly exploited and abused. We are forced to do whatever we are asked even if it's not our job or is a personal favor to director and he's family.
There's no specific working times and there's times were we worked between 12-16 hours a days without extra renumeration.
Asking for extra renumeration, a pay rise or time off from work may result in you being fire or ridiculed for the remainder of your time at the company.
Seeking assistance from outside labour authorities will result in you losing. Everybody has a price and the company will gladly pay them . You'll be unemployed and don't even think you'll get another in this small town because they will spread malicious lies about the quality of your work and whatever else they can use!
If you come in late or absent on a Monday you ain't getting paid for the rest of the week. That's the same if you stand up for your rights!
Despite not having a contract if you fall in love with a coworker you will be ridiculed and shamed in front of your fellow co-workers and any clients present. You will be later fired. An ex colleague (married) fell in love with another colleague of a different race . He was ridiculed and late fired . She was physically assaulted numerous times by an illiterate (he completed grade 4) “manager”. She was later accused of “stealing” (without proof) and fired. I truly believe this was because of a mixed race extramarital relationship.
You can bet that you are gonna get swore at daily! Verbal abuse is the norm.
You might even get physically assaulted if you aren't careful.
If you hand in your resignation letter you can 100% believe your 2 weeks is gonna be extreme hell and you aren't getting paid for it either.
I finally have another job , they emailed me a bunch of contracts and so on. I was truly surprised of the Dept of it , the rules and regulations, how protected the employee is and mostly how friendly HR and the managers are . I'm really stressed out that I won't be able to cope in such an environment. It feels like I've been released from a sweat shop or prison. I'm so excited to ghost my nightmare job!
