So… Been working at a smallish company for just over 4 years and during that time I made the decision to leave them on multiple occasions (me being a middle aged man raising two kids meant this was always going to be a planned resignation rather than a knee-jerk screw you I'm leaving)
Also will not be going into to much detail about why the old employer sucks but here is the fall out.
So, new job comes with a 50% increase, and 2 days a week remote work.
Since my generous 45 day notice I have been offered the following:
1) we will double your salary
2) you will be given 15% shares in the company
3) we will fire the person that you dislike at the office.
So, needless to say tempted at their promises but then I sat down and reminded myself that they had 4 years to double my salary. They also spoke about shares when I joined them 4 years ago and now they want to dangle that same rotten 4 year old carrot Infront of me.
There is much more to say and complain about, but this was the important bits, they will use and abuse you all they can until you tell them to get stuffed.
