Left my job today of 7 years after working 9 hrs for a year straight and being told we would be working more overtime. After terminating my employment and trying to initiate the process of cashing out my 401k I truly learned how horrible of a person we had for HR. I was today years old when I learned that terminating yourself at will doesn’t mean your terminated until last payroll is complete which also means not being able to close a 401k for another month to receive the funds. Oh well, the look in her face when she asked me “you aren’t going to put in your two weeks” and I said “this job has robbed enough time of me from my children so I’m giving that two weeks to them” was more than worth.
