Fire teammates -> overwork remaining staff -> gaslight them

Seems like this is the playbook for employers nowadays in this failing economy. My teammates were let go, resulting in the remaining staff's responsibilities skyrocketing. Logically, we cant keep up with the workload. We are hourly employees with a VERY FIRM mandate against overtime. In fact, if we are found to be working overtime, we will be fired. So now we are being tasked with all miraculously doing the work of 3 people in 1, and we have to do it in the same 40hr workweek. Which logically, is impossible. So now we are getting gaslit constantly. Constantly being told we arent good employees, we arent working hard enough, we arent working fast enough, revenues falling is all our fault, etc. But then when we ask for them to bend the rules and grant some overtime, they get VERY pissed off that we would even suggest that. I hate corporate…
