So I was working as a server at a small bar and grill. It was so slow, I was making so little, so I applied for other jobs. Got one the day I turned my application in. Was told i was polite, professional, experienced, etc. at a fine dining place. Used to work at the garden of olives which isn't fine dining but I have experienced rushes and bad customers and I know what serving is like. Like any place, training is always a lot to learn and you'll grow as you practice right? WRONG! Just got a call from the manager today they didn't want me to continue and it wouldn't work out. How tf would you know if you haven't given me a shot?
The lady I was working with was an anal bitch who snapped in my face and said I was moving too slow. She's not my boss and she was disrespectful so I ignored it because I wasn't going to move at the speed of light if I'm just shadowing since I haven't even been on the floor on my own and I'm fucking training and don't know everything. The way these people talked about me when they let me go you would think I was huffing and rolling my eyes and staring at my phone. When the last table left and I finished all my side work I asked if i could bounce because that's how it's been at every fucking place I've worked at. Nope! I was so horrible for that! I polished silverware one at a time instead of in handfuls (because that's what I was used to) and My hand was shaking a tad with a scalding hot weirdly shaped bowl. They acted like I dropped a tray on someone. It's like they didn't even give me room to improve on these rules and how tf else was I supposed to know?
I told them I was greatly confused because they were so eager to get me started right away and I left my old job and they're just going ghost on me. I'm sorry my life's purpose isn't to suck your business' toes. I had multiple customers say they could tell I was gonna do great and I was doing excellent in training. So just with no remorse fucking off on me and telling I'm not a good fit when I was just getting started. Fuck you.
I'm sorry this is just me ranting about the mistreatment of these selfish fucks who don't gaf if someone quits a job for them to quit on you after two days. Bullying their staff because they feel like it. We get praised on great service and all the servers are so sweet but the owners yell at them for nothing. I get if someone really isn't gonna do their job but my lord we're only human. I wasn't even that bad and the only reason I'm not still sobbing is because I have an interview on friday. These people say the resturant is their baby but mistreat their staff even tho the customers are beyond pleased.
I just don't get it, why don't people communicate? I had no intentions of being a bad employee or slacking, yet they expect me to read their minds
