Fired for being sick made me question a few things…

I used to work in IT and became sick on bed rest. I had a manager who wasn't the best and had me terminated for failure to show up despite knowing my situation. Years later a friend became the manager and wanted to pull me back in only to find out I couldn't be hired due to what the manager did. It just seems like a complete waste of time and money to rinse and repeat when there are people who would be open to trying again and who also have skills. Not only that in some areas there are only 1 or 2 places that pay a “decent” wage…The practice of firing and not being allowed to be rehired, especially for minor things seems so counter-productive.

This is just a thought and if it doesn't belong feel free to remove it.
