Fired for no reason (IT Support)

So I worked at a bank out of Connecticut, the tech team was pretty good. It paid pretty well, good benefits, no need to worry right? 2 weeks in, I found out my superior, the IT operations manager, was laid off, but was hired back because they couldn’t find someone better. Which already made me uneasy with how they are willing to let someone like that go. Today, I am told I was being let go because I wasn’t attentive and I take hours to respond to tickets. There is a ton of downtime at my job, and I am punished for not doing anything when there isn’t anything to do? So I worked at a bank out of Connecticut, the tech team was pretty good. It paid pretty well, good benefits, no need to worry right?

2 weeks in, I found out my superior, the IT operations manager, was laid off, but was hired back because they couldn’t find someone better.

Which already made me uneasy with how they are willing to let someone like that go.

Today, I am told I was being let go because I wasn’t attentive and I take hours to respond to tickets.

There is a ton of downtime at my job, and I am punished for not doing anything when there isn’t anything to do? BS

The issue here lies w the fact that they often didn’t have time to train me to operate many systems they needed me too.

This was the only reason I can grasp of a “issue” I had, every other person on the team were on their phones more than me. I don’t get it.

On my way out my manager apologized? Not sure what to make of that, seems to me it was just an excuse to let me go based on how banks are doing currently.

They wanted me to just grasp it out of thin air at points.

Then when I tried to ask for help, they would say that they were busy and would get back to me later. 90% of the time they didn’t.

And guess what? They used that against me, for stuff I couldn’t do because I wasn’t trained or didn’t have the appropriate information.

I was fired for no reason whatsoever, and I’m extremely disappointed and angry.

I really tried to be the best I could at that job, as it was my first salaried job.

I know I’ll get something else, I have good relationships w recruiters and career centers at my college, but it still stings. It’s hard to not take this personally.

Not to mention the HR lady was being a complete bitch to me during the process, when I’ve done nothing but be kind to everyone at the office.

Any advice? Not sure what to make of all of this.
