What are your opinions on “flexible availability” after you get a set work schedule?
During the interview, manager said they wanted employees with flexible availability. So I was flexible with the hours/ days they needed. I got my work schedule and started. After I got my work schedule, I made some plans on my day off.
When I was at work, my manager told me they needed me to come in to work the next day, my day off, to cover for ‘John.’ I told them I couldn’t, I had already arranged plans. Then my manager said I “lied” about having “flexible availability.”
I may have misunderstood the manager. I didn’t imagine “flexible availability” meant I would be on “beck and call.”
