I work in a bank, so although it’s technically a retail job, we still wear suits and have to behave very professionally. Customers, however, do not behave any differently at the bank as they would at a fast food restaurant. Constantly complaining, yelling and screaming, giving employees orders and demands, banging on tables, letting their small children run around like they’re in the park, banging on the doors before we open and after we close, and generally just rude behavior.
I get the sense on this sub that the main reason people are “anti work” is because of toxic work environments created by their bosses and the company as a whole. Although this certainly exists in many cases, what is by far the most unbearable part of working for me is dealing with the public. I know its cliche and kind of a meme at this point, but dealing with the public on a daily basis makes me genuinely lose faith in humanity.
