I recently moved to a new department. As I was leaving my old position, they began giving me all of the work. My attitude has always been “If you give it to me, it'll get done,” but I also believe people should be left alone when they are leaving.
Weeks to go, I was getting through all of the work, and didn't mind, but on the Tuesday before I was leaving, all of Monday's and Tuesday's assignments were sent to me. Upon seeing this, I called in sick on Wednesday morning, then again Thursday morning.
Everything was re-assigned and all was right again.
