Hi all!
My bf works for a company that is talking about taking away their work phones in a few months. He works outside, not in an office, and it’s the only way to contact him. So instead… they want all employees to use their personal phones.
He’s nowhere near as assertive (read: aggressive) in his work life as I am so I can’t get him to just tell them NO, I’m not using my personal phone. Period.
He shouldn’t have to give his personal phone to clients OR pay for the data. We’ve thought of a) just saying he doesn’t have a phone available for use and b) saying he doesn’t have enough data to support work usage, but are there any laws/loopholes to get through it if they get really weird about it??
Multiple employees are complaining so hopefully it won’t go through but… uGH. Even the most insane managers and job positions I’ve had never asked me to use my cell except for once when the phone lines were down
