Might be the wrong sub but does anyone have experience with this?
3 weeks ago I got the flu. Told my boss I could be at work he said I needed to stay home until I was well.
Last week I got Covid. Same story from the boss about needing to stay home.
Now he is saying I have used all my PTO and my week out with Covid will be unpaid.
For context, new employee only 5 months in so I only had a week of PTO. I work construction as a superintendent. My job sites are currently undergoing excavation which means I spend all day in my truck watching the HE move dirt. So I 100% could have been at work and avoided people.
So since I was told not to be at work by my boss when I was willing and able to be at work can they force me to use my PTO and then force me into unpaid time off? Also appropriate medical docs/tests to back it all up.
