So if you waited six months for an end of year bonus check from last year and never heard about it again until you brought it up to your boss and he said he “forgot about that” but he “really appreciates all your efforts”… do you put in 2 weeks knowing that money is probably never gonna come through that door or do you finish out this season in hopes that you took a stand and it will pay off?
For context, the boss is a self professed Christian man who should have retired a few years ago and is just fleecing the owners for easy paychecks because he’s been there 25 years. I’ve established a clear pattern of words and actions not aligning, but been told repeatedly that’s just the way he is, “forgetful” maybe but not deceitful.
I’ve stuck out jobs I knew weren’t going to work out long term because I needed the money or felt obligated for the clients or coworkers but I’m not really interested in doing that anymore. It’s mostly the blatant lying waved away as innocent mistakes that turns me off like my dad’s thermostat.
