We are not really that close(just share a hobby), but he was telling me how he has to work two jobs (one nearly minimum wage one is tip based), and that his degree is impossible to break into. He said all the jobs in his field require experience, and I said “Well let's get you that job. Everything on my resume is fake after all. I had no idea about anything at my current job and they put me in charge of our states branch. I can help you make a fake resume, or you can say you worked under me for a few years if you want to break into my field instead.”
He was horrified. He said “How could you do something like that?” and I told him “Well your company isn't going to be honest with you either, so they can't really expect it in return. More people get a job this way than you might think”. Then he said “You haven't had your job for years anyway how could we say I worked under you for years then?” and I said there is no way they would be able to find that out. Then he told me he is thinking about going back to school because maybe a master's will help him get a job in the field he wants to enter.
He clearly didn't want to talk anymore after that, and now he won't really speak with me aside from saying hello when I run into him. The most mind blowing part of this is he is 20 something.
I just can't believe how deep the brain washing is. Actually going to put himself in even more debt, for a maybe chance at maybe getting a good job. Many of my friends (Most of which are under 30) also think this way it is unbelievable. It's not like most of them are super moral people either they will easily lie on a date or to a regular person but the idea of doing it in a job interview is just outrageous when that is really one of the times it is appropriate.
