I'm getting ready to go in for a 52 hour week and I'm dreading it. We have “mandatory overtime” all the time that we get stuck with. Good luck just having a 40 hour week with 8 hour days. As soon as your training is over and you are competent enough you will be working 12 hour shifts all week every week.
I've only been here 3 months. I'm still in my 90 days so I can only reach 4 points right now for calling off. I only have 1 point right now that was supposed to be taken off because almost everyone called off because we had a snowstorm a few weeks ago, but 2 whole people showed up so they decided not to take the points off.
They also put case count before people, but act like the opposite. They are always saying “it's just cookies” (they bought out a local cookie factory that they are just using to get more profit) or “don't risk your life for something small” then turn around and through a hissy fit if we don't meet the case count for the hour. They act like saints because they give us weekends off, but then turn around and threaten us with taking that away because we aren't productive. They would rather also just use and abuse Temps than hire people in direct. In my 3 months I think maybe 6 people have been fired/quit
They also say they are so keen on safety, but I beg to differ. Someone almost got electrocuted and the higher ups just laughed it off.
They also denied a co-worker FMLA to take care of her sick daughter. And threatening to not keep another co-workers job after her surgery.
To top it off, the schedule is very unpredictable you could be. Working 11am to 11pm one day or 3pm to 3am one day.
One thing is clear though, this greedy company does not care about its workers at all. Corporate, if you see this I really don't care. It's the truth and it needs to be told.
