Gave so much warning, but hey you can’t have your vacation days

This upcoming weekend my wife and I will be celebrating our 21st anniversary (actually wanted to take the vacation last year for our 20th, but you know Covid), so I asked for Friday, Monday & Tuesday off. I verbally spoke with my manager a year ago. A month ago, I submitted the days for vacation and it was accepted. Today, I write an email to the person in charge (HR) of inputting the vacation into the time clock and included my manager as a reminder. Now, my manager is asking me if I can work those days because he also gave my coworker who only asked for those days off last week. I said “No”, unless he wants to pay for my plane ticket and hotel room and apologize to my wife. He shrugged that off and just said, “I'm gonna screw you two later”. WTF!!! Why would you want…

WTF!!! Why would you want to screw with me? I'm not the young new hire who has been on FMLA (on and off) for pregnancy for the past two years. I'm not the one who takes days off without warning (new hire). I'm the one who is flexible. If you need me to work, I will. BUT, not for something I've been planning for years and you knew about for a year ahead, a month ahead, and again a week ahead.

Just RANTING. Thanks for reading!
