Gen Z College Student – Tips For Getting Less Shitty Jobs?

I’m currently studying in college and only have had essentially minimum wage jobs – theatre usher, receptionist, retail worker etc. I currently work in retail while studying and know that if I tried to find a different job I’d basically only be hired in another minimum wage job that doesn’t require experience. I keep seeing people here discussing job hopping as a tactic for pay increases or promotions. How do I get out of this minimum wage/entry level revolving door? I know college used to be a way to a better job, like in the 1950s/60s etc but now almost everyone has some post secondary education and so it’s a zero sum equation. I just feel very pessimistic but while college can be a necessity for better paying office/white collar jobs it’s not a guarantee at all..
