i’ve been at my job for five months, full time (overtime most weeks) and it’s a job with physical demands; lifting and carrying, being on my feet all shift – i walk about five miles a day just at work alone. the pay was too good to pass on & i needed a job, now i’m second guessing it.
recently my back and hips have been hurting more than normal, my legs go numb if i sit or lay the wrong way and one of my spinal disks is very clearly not aligned (it’s visibly a good inch over from where it’s supposed to be). i have an appointment to actually go get it looked at in a few weeks but the physical demands are a getting to be too much for my body to handle and i’m in way more pain than normal.
before starting at the job i DID have back problems but it wasn’t unbearable, it’s getting to that point and it’s affecting me more so now.
when i go in i have a feeling i’ll be told to 1) go to physical therapy or 2) they’ll suggest me leaving this job due to the fact that my limbs are literally going numb & i’m at probably a resting 7 on the pain level at any given time of day.
i HAVE been looking at other jobs / trying to find something remote and i’m at a loss so far.
if i quit due to this being a medical issue (if the dr. agrees), can i apply for unemployment until i find something more suitable for me? or am i stuck until i can find something? unfortunately i need money to live and there’s no way around that for me right now.
