Getting married this year.

Hi Guys, I live and work in Canada. I visited my parents after 3 years of not seeing them due to Covid. I went down in Dec 2022 for about 3-4 weeks. I used my annual leave entitled to me and did not use any additional grace days or unpaid days. My manager told me that she had to pass through a lot of hoops to grant me this leave.

She made me feel very bad during team meetings about how the team will have to cover for me.

Now, I am planned to get married in Dec and will need about 8 weeks of leave. I am dreading asking them for this.

I feel this is more of a vent/ I just wanted to share my emotions.

I wish the labour laws in Canada was so much more towards Employees. My fiancé already has his holiday approved for two months because he works in the UK.

I am so stressed on how I am supposed to address this.
