Ghosted my job for NYE

I’m an assistant GM at a fast casual restaurant, and I was the only manager scheduled to work on both NYE and Day. Open-close both days. They’ve already been super inconsiderate with my schedule the whole time I’ve been there. Like giving me closes back-to-back with opens giving me 3-4 hours to sleep and working 18+ hours in a 24 hour span, giving me a completely different schedule every week, and leaving me shitshows to clean up with limited help. So this was kind of my breaking point. I had a job interview on the 30th for a better position elsewhere, and I gambled on the new job by no-showing for both shifts and not responding to any calls or texts. After the first no-show, I was notified that I got the new job! Went out with my boys for new years and had a hell of a time. Woke…

After the first no-show, I was notified that I got the new job! Went out with my boys for new years and had a hell of a time. Woke up an hour before my next shift, still drunk, and went right the hell back to sleep.

Job abandonment is fun! I hope they have fun covering my 45 hours this week! Meanwhile I will be taking the week off to get my year rolling in the right direction before I start my new job!

The new year brings new opportunities.. Gamble.
