So a friend/colleague of mine is struggling to deliver handover meetings and case review meetings.
We work in an environment and we support a caseload of clients, up to about 10 people at a time. Every fortnight we have case review meetings, where have to speak in front of the rest of the staff and management team. My friend has very high anxiety and is engaged with their therapist for this.
Recently, they received an email regarding this from our deputy manager, who basically stated because they had requested not to partake in these meetings, that they are not fulfilling all facets of their job role.
Next week I will be attending a meeting between my friend and the management team. I have though of a few useful suggestions and will put these forward in the meeting, as a compromise for both parties. We are currently looking in to the policies and procedures to find a section about reasonable adjustments.
Basically want to know if they can make a person who has diagnosed Anxiety and Glossophobia speak in front of a lot of people, or if there’s anything else we can consider.
They are working with their therapist to try and overcome this issues.
Any advice welcome.
