Here in Australia, you get $750 for the week you have to isolate from Covid. I’m currently a casual in my security job, I’ve requested to be made permanent part time over three months ago but they haven’t promoted anybody in that time (despite cries about having too many “casuals” on the budget). I need PPT or Full Time so I can accrue sick leave, without that I literally can’t afford to get sick or I can’t pay my bills. If I get Covid I can at least have some money coming in for the week. Plus, I can spend extra time with my family.
In short, I hope my health declines just enough so that I can spend some time with my family while also being paid enough to stay afloat. How fucking bleak.
