Soo as the title states I am definitely going to lose my job in September and I need some opinions:
- I started working for this company back in Feb- policy around vacation was unlimited PTO. I’ve taken a total of 15 days off of work; a majority of it for a Europe vacation I went on for 2 weeks a couple weeks ago ( I had planned since last year prior to this I had taken 4 days off. )
- When I asked for my PTO for Europe my boss said I was taking too much time off for my position and if the understanding was I would not take any more time off for the rest of the year, if I did then I would get terminated.
- I am going back to Europe in September lol as well as I have a lot of family trips planned around the holidays, so I’m wondering if I would still be eligible for unemployment? I am looking for jobs but sheesh it’s a tough market. Ideally I would have a new job by then that starts after my trip but just in case.
- I also have proof that the vacation policy was adjusted ( definitely to my doing lol) to only getting 15 days at the discretion of my manager so I feel like they are setting it up so they can deny my unemployment.
Would you still get fired or? I plan on telling her a week before I go but I also want to wait up until so I can juice my paycheck.
I do have savings but I’d honestly rather not touch those but I mean if it came to it then I’d have to 🤷️
