I've been told I'm getting a 9.1% payrise, inflation where I am is 11.3%.
In general I would have found this OK if it was just the cost of living affecting it.
HOWEVER, my issue is that in the last 3 months i've took on the role of somebody who left the company, their salary was 24% higher than mine, so I was expecting at least 20% at this review.
I'm angry I've taken on this huge role and I'm supposed to be grateful that I'm still the hourly wage equivalent to 85% of the last person.
WITH the payrise I'm still also on 1k less than the previous person who did just my original role, not my original role with these additional responsibilities.
I was told in June I would be getting a small payrise (which I expected to be to about where I am now – 9-10%) with the “Large one” coming when the staff member left in September to equivalent or close to because I am less experienced in the role.
Boss called today and said they're angry i haven't thanked them.
They didn't directly tell me about the raise, my line manager did YESTERDAY Afternoon.
My boss also hasn't been in since I found out, and won't be in again till Friday (When I was already thinking to begrudgingly thank them because it will “be reviewed again in a few months”). They expected a text after work.
