Got hit with an “I guess you’re only here for the money? You don’t have any company loyalty?”

There was an issue with them scheduling me 10 days in a row with no days off between two work weeks, which is skeevy. In Texas, it's illegal in retail to do that without a waiver. The limit is 6 days without a 24 hour rest. I brought that up, and I said I'm going to focus on my company since it makes more money. He questioned my loyalty and said I was only there for the money. I said very plainly “That's correct. If this was about loyalty, why would I need to be paid at all? I literally came here to do a task in exchange for money that I need to survive. Why do some employers think a paycheck is enough for unrelenting loyalty?
