Been at my new job for about 2 months. Senior IT position for a site hadn't had anyone for 5 years, just remote support from other locations. Servers all 10 years out from real maintenance, backups literally not a thing, half the building has been begging for in house IT for years. Got laid off because “business has been slow”. Just had a company meeting this morning that they had secured new contracts.
I fucking interviewed for longer than they had me on. How do you so poorly budget that a new hire's salary needs to be slashed so soon?
Such a quick turnaround that my 401k enrollment card only arrived in the mail tonight, and I hadn't even finished benefits enrollment. Getting 1 week severance for my trouble, which honestly barely covers the time I spent interviewing.
