Had a breakdown, being forced to go into “half time” of 40 hours.

So, I work at a call center. Yes, it is hell. For sometime now, I've been needing a break, just, one day off to recharge. However, they don't let you take time off, even whithout pay. You have to have a full explanation with proof that your grandma will personally unalive you if you don't miss work, or a doctor's note from the public health office, which takes about 3 to 5 hours even if you've literally been run over by a car. Without this they raise a whole fuzz, and before you ask, I'm not in the us, apparently this assholes can just do that and refuse you personal time off. So, long story short, i got one too many “rush up” call outs at work and had a bit of a breakdown on Monday. As in, i told my supervisor i needed a moment, she asked why, i stupidly told her my opinions on their time off policies (translated into something that sounds less like i wanna commit revolution and more like, formal complaint). She was like: dID yOu dIsClOsE YouR cOnDiTiOn wHeN YoU gOt HiRed???

My condition: being stressed i guess.

And also: well name, i told you to do the over deal on November that got you one day off for one extra hour each monday. Which makes you work 11 hours a day instead of 10, and you did not take it so your fault.

I'm sorry i wasn't feeling up to being even more of a customer slave than I am already when I'm this stressed.

Anyway, so i did get warned for a few weeks to be fair, but, I'm not being “”disciplined”” over apparently not doing two “empathy statements” on each call. I'm not rude, mind you, and my quality control evaluations are pretty excellent. But I'm not giving the empathy. So my bonus is being taken off.

And then i committed the big dumb. I disclosed I'm on the autism spectrum so empathy is a bit hard on me.

She was like: YOU'RE THE ONE MAKING THIS A BIG DEAL, BOB FROM TRAINING IS AUTISTIC SO WE'RE NOT ABLEIST. YOU NOT GETTING RESULTS, YOU MUST TELL ME TODAY IF YOU WANNA GO HALF TIME TO DEAL WITH YOUR ISSUE. ALSO HAVE U CONSIDERED THIS JOB ISN'T FOR YOU?

And later when I asked her to at least let me work full time for a few more months she was like: ofc you can 🙂 but we need results. So, pretty much, told either do half time or keep getting the boot.

So that's my tale i guess. I'll be getting a sixth of my paycheck cut to work 40 hours of “””half time”””” instead of 48.

I'll now be accepting thoughts and prayers, and possibly donations i guess.
