Had NYE weekend approved off, slight misunderstanding caused me to get scheduled anyways

I started a new job and I had requested the 29th-2nd off well in advance and it had been approved for over a month. My manager made the schedule on Friday night and I realized that I no longer needed the 29th or the 2nd off and could work those days, but due to how it works we can’t pick up any shifts if there’s time off there. At this point I’m not scheduled any of those days anyways so I figure if I delete my request I could pick up someone’s shift for those two days (this in hindsight is where I fucked up) Lo and behold an hour later my manager edits the schedule an hour later and schedules me every single day for the time I had approved off (and gives other people NYE and NYD off instead). This rightfully enraged me but I ended up waiting…

At this point I’m not scheduled any of those days anyways so I figure if I delete my request I could pick up someone’s shift for those two days (this in hindsight is where I fucked up)

Lo and behold an hour later my manager edits the schedule an hour later and schedules me every single day for the time I had approved off (and gives other people NYE and NYD off instead). This rightfully enraged me but I ended up waiting till the next day to text him the situation and that it was a misunderstanding.

2 days later and he has yet to respond to my text (I want to give him some leeway cause it was Christmas weekend but he’s still been texting us asking if we can come in earlier and such) and at this point I’m just pissed off because I was going out of town and I already have a hotel and such (and the fact that he basically gave my weekend off to other people). I work today and intend to talk to him but I’m at the point where I’m just gonna say “I wasn’t on the schedule and i’m not gonna be here this weekend so you can just write me up rn if it’s an issue.”

Of course I’d rather not go that route but I’m not sure why he’s blatantly ignoring my text about it.

Am I in the wrong here? Obviously I probably shouldn’t have deleted the time off request but I also didn’t expect him to edit the schedule after the fact and completely screw me.
