So my mate's(34yo) been telling me about this situation at his work which causing alot of anxiety.
He works a state government job, not even quite sure what he does. But a few weeks ago he sent out an email on a particularly fast paced/bad day and left off all the “Hello's and Thank you's” on an email involving some big-wig or client. It wasn't rude or anything but he was called up for not being friendly enough.
For a month now every email he sends has to be signed off by some department manager, slowing up his work and having his basic ability to communicate critiqued constantly.
The other day he was called up for “Being too nice” – I flipped. “WHAT!? That's insane.. I would just tell them to “Back the hell off and let me do my job!” But my mate prioritizes his job security and won't take any risks.
What would you do in this situation?
