My SO started her RN career with an annual salary less than the total student loan debt accrued for the degree. Teachers often start at 1/2 annual income vs accrued student loan debt He also promotes no more than 25% of take home pay towards housing (mortgage, insurance, taxes). Here's some math. 45.67k salary ($22/hr) 18% total tax rate Take home: $37,433 /12 = $3,119 per month 25% max to housing: $780 per month He is out of touch. $780 proves this.
