I obviously (I think so) cannot ask this to my manager, but I'm just wondering if I should still come to work or somehow come up with an excuse and it will be okay if I don't anymore? Or will they hold it against me or anything? For context, I work from home using company provided computer equipment and I have until the first week of January next year and that's it. For whatever reason, someone from the asset retrieval team contacted me today and told me they will collect the equipment and my company ID by tomorrow (I don't have a car that's why they are coming in but I will have to pay for it). I wasn't informed if I have to go back to our workplace for the remainder of my employment but since they're apparently retrieving everything, then I guess I have to? I have grown to hate my job and completely disgusted with the company/management as a whole because of how underpaid they treat their employees and the exhausting toxic work environment so going back is the last thing I would like to happen. If I'm being honest, I almost don't care if there are consequences but I'm curious if anyone had any similar experiences and would be able to share some insights on this.
