Help needed: insurance premiums cost more than my rent

Hi everyone – I work for an agency of a big city’s government and I make $75k/year. I have some debt I’m trying to pay down but it’s impossible with my insurance costs. I’ve done the math several times and my current plan is the most cost effective considering my needs – but it’s still $1200 / month out of my paycheck. I only pay $940 in rent every month (+ $100 for utilities). There are some plans that cost $0 per month, but I take a medication with a high out of pocket cost and see specialists multiple times per month, so when I do the math, I’d still be paying a similar amount if I switched to one of those plans. I recently took on a night job waiting tables to balance my budget more… Is there anything I can do to lower my premium or get some…

I recently took on a night job waiting tables to balance my budget more… Is there anything I can do to lower my premium or get some assistance with the premium? Like any assistance programs?
