I need to just complain a little, please.
I do data entry for a prominent scummy oxygen supply company. It’s a hell scape. Totally unorganized. Constantly stressful. Nonstop workload to the point that most people skip breaks just trying to make sure we done have to work a weekend. With constantly changing insurance guidelines we get yelled at daily for not doing something the way they told us yesterday even though they told us to do it another way today.
We typically have to have everything entered that was received by 12:00 pm on the last day worked for the end of the month. If the last day of the month is a Saturday or Sunday this usually means a super long day on Friday, but guaranteed a weekend off for once.
Not this weekend. Today our manager tells us halfway through the day that people at the top now want everything received by 3:00 pm on Saturday completed by month and we will be working 7-5:30 tomorrow and 7-? On Saturday.
This comes after two weeks of 9 hour days Monday-Saturday trying in effort to keep us current so we don’t have to work so much at month end.
There is no way that our manager did not know that these would be the month end requirements until today at 3:00. She kept it from us so that we would grind and not complain thinking it was earning us a weekend off.
To top it off when we ask if more people are going to be hired they tell us there is a hiring freeze because we should be able to handle the workload with current staff.
Only saving grace is working from home but they hold it over our heads as a privilege that will be taken away if we don’t perform to standard at any point. If that happened I would have to go back to the rundown, moldy office building with no windows that I trained in.
I actually took this job for the wfh because I had some serious medical conditions pop up and needed something easy with minimal stress while I focused on getting that into remission. It has not been what I expected or needed.
I’ve put in close to 80 job applications over the past few months and finally have one that looks like it could actually happen.
I had a phone call with pre interview screening questions today. And need to send in a predictive index test. This is the most interaction I’ve gotten out of any of my applications, so I’m hopeful.
Pray or do spells or whatever you do for me, guys. I need this bad!
