Folks are saying workers need to organize & unionize first – this isn’t practical, as we’ll just be fired. Nearly half of the states are “right to work”, meaning folks can be fired for no reason.
Mutual aid & guarantee of mutual aid first!! Probably other steps I don’t know first!
Which requires organization, and trustworthy organizers.
THAT needs to be one of the first steps.
There will be obstacles! This won’t happen overnight. But IT WON’T HAPPEN AT ALL IF WE NEVER START. Anyone who lists reasons why this will never happen or how it’ll be too hard are agents of the enemy, are trying to stop this before it starts, and should be ignored. As obstacles arise naturally, we’ll strategize alternate ways. Focus on the yesses, the possibilities, the ways it CAN happen.
I can dedicate some time to this, are there others here who can? I am disorganized, I live with impulsivity and anxiety… and I am willing to do whatever I can to help. This is a long-haul proposition, it is going to take time and dedication.
Where are resources for this? Who’s done this before? Are there blueprints somewhere? Would Bernie & Bernie’s people help organize?
