I work directly under the operations manager who used to be the logistics manager for our company. My team and I are able to do anything we need to do such as help out on understaffed departments if they are swamped or someone called out. Being the most experienced one in my team, I was promoted to the position that my boss left and became in charge of the team, with a raise and additional benefits. I worked hard that it reached the point that I even help out the other branches we have when there are issues. I took the responsibility as a challenge to myself and it rarely happens anyway so no big deal.
Everything was going well until I was told today by my boss that the higher ups want to hire someone to take over my job and I will be demoted to Team Lead. They also want me to train the new manager with everything I know. It’s not official yet but the news itself broke me today.
My boss thinks it’s stupid and says that he’s on my side but with him being one of the higher-ups, I doubt he really cared if I lose my job or not. I worked hard to build the branch from the ground up, literally helped with the installation of the new machines but I sincerely feel that it’s time for me to go.
Thank you for letting me vent on here.
